General Revews For All

You might ask yourself, “How does sustainability relate to the beauty industry?” Let’s first define sustainability. The responsibility to preserve natural resources and protect global ecosystems is environmental sustainability. This helps support our health and well-being now and into the future.

Okay, now we have the definition. Now let’s see how that relates to the beauty industry. The environmental impact of hard-to-recycle cosmetic packaging is enormous. It is hard to believe! It gets worse! The ingredients in our products are harmful not only to the environment (mainly marine life and aquatic life) but also to us. How can we make makeup more affordable and help the environment? It all boils down to self-regulation and making better choices to preserve the earth and ourselves planet beauty.

That’s basically what I’m going to talk about today. I’m not trying to scare you or change your mind about cosmetic products. I don’t want to tell you to get rid of everything and start over. As always, I am here to educate and empower you with the information I provide. As better makeup consumers, we can do four things to increase sustainability in our purchases, use, and disposal of beauty and cosmetic products.

These are just a few of the many things I will share with you. It is important to note that I do not promote these products. They are either something I’ve researched, heard great things about, or fit into my daily life. These brands are worthy of praise for their commitment to sustainability in any way they choose. Speaking of sponsors (wink If you enjoyed these posts and want to take it to the next level, you can join my Patreon! You will get exclusive perks for makeup artists and lovers by donating a few dollars to my virtual tip jar.

We’ve all been there. A palette is bought and used with only a handful of colors. The rest sits there, utterly unused, until it expires, at which point we have to throw it out. It’s so wasteful! This is why I love the idea of creating your palettes. A palette container can be purchased empty and then filled with the colors you like. These are some brands that I recommend for anyone who wants to build their own refillable palettes.

You can create your refillable palette. The palette can be filled with eyeshadows, cream blush, blushes, highlighters, bronzers, and even cake liners. It is so easy to refill the palettes by simply purchasing new pods. Their packaging is also quite excellent — as discussed in Tip 2, but it’s worth keeping in mind. Their packaging comprises 50-100% recycled PET resin from post-consumer. What is PET resin? It is the easiest to recycle resin today!

This company is true to its mission, and I must admit it does! To do beauty better. You can catch me talking about sanitary products later in the post – MOB lives up to this mission!MAC offers a build-your-own palette option, the same as pros use. This allows you to save money and reduce packaging. This brand is more prevalent among MUAs. However, they are a great option for beginners who want to “match” the foundation to their skin. They offer many opportunities for palettes like blush, concealer, eyeshadow, and blush.
